If after finishing a new Layout you have enjoyed the result, you can quite easily transform it into a Quick page so that you could use it again and again. I do it quite a lot, having two daughters, changing just a few little things here and there. If you think of doing the transformation in future, save the file in pspimage format for now in order not to lose the layers.
In order for this tutorial to work, you have to follow just one simple rule:
Keep the layers separate, until you know which of them you want to be merged for a final Quick page.

1. Open your ¡§layout.pspimage¡¨

2. Remove text and title as needed. You may want to replace a bow with the one different coloured, or put a different element instead of a snowman. In this particular case I am quite happy with the elements and the title, so I will remove only the text layer.

3. Select the layer with the photograph on in your layer palette on the right.

4. Now Select tool Magic wand and set it to select all opaque

5. With your magic wand click on the photo
Now delete the original photo.

6. Keep the marching ants marching for a little longer, on the layer palette, one by one remove the papers underneath your photo layer, until you get to the background layer, exactly the same way you picked the photo layer in step 3.
7. Right click with your mouse on the background layer „³ promote background layer and delete the selection (this is why we kept the ants marching).

You are now left with the multilayered Quick page

Close off the original file without saving any changes.
Save your new Quick Page as a png file, to keep the transparency.

To use your new quick page:
Open the quick page. Open the photograph. Ctrl+C keys will copy the photo, go to the Quick Page Edit„³Paste as a new layer, or just make sure the window with the QP is active by clicking on some part of it, and Ctrl+L (Paste as new layer) Reposition and resize as needed.

Now in the layers palette click and hold the top layer (photo) and drag it under the raster layer 1 (your quick page).

Now add any text and elements to the top layer. You are done.
Save your work.
