I know I love presets, they control so many aspects of PSP. You can find them for almost everything brushes, inner bevels, shadows, textures and styled lines. Unzipped presets go into your PSP preset folder and Move the Brushes and brush tips folder to the PSP brush folder.
This image is one that I did while playing with making an embroidery-stitching preset. I basically started with just a normal straight brush and also played with any line brush that I had. Brush variances can take a different look just by changing one number a little bit.
Example: all the blue designs were create with one brush tip, all the green, pink and orange designs are all different brushes and I just changing the variance a little bit. So again practice and play to get a better understanding how they work.
I could easily have uploaded the preset for you all to download and use, but I think it is more fun to have you make and save these on your own. I will show you the settings I used.
These are the settings I used for my brush, the one thing you should notice is that using the brush tip in a vertical direction is almost a must! You can easily create just a straight brush like this by selecting the square brush and by adjusting the Thickness to 3 or 4 will give you a narrow vertical line.
Note: you will not need the Rotation like I have since I rotated this brush vertical.
Then open your brush variance and change to these settings.
Now you will want to save this as a preset. Click the blue floppy icon and give your preset a name and you are done. Now you can go back and try other brushes to see how they look, adjust the setting lower the Impressions per step to 1 or 2.
If you find another setting that you love and want to keep as another preset, go ahead and save another one. Watch out this is addicting also!
