1. Begin by positioning your ribbon onto its own layer on your layout.
2. Activate the Mesh Warp Tool:
3. Depending on your ribbon, you might need to play with the values in the horizontal and vertical mesh fields. This will depend entirely on the size of your ribbon.
4. Be sure the layer containing the ribbon is active.
5. Begin warping the ribbon by moving the appropriate nodes until you achieve a “pinched” or threaded look.
6. Once you’ve achieved the perfect pinch, click on the green checkmark on the tool attribute bar.
7. Your ribbon should now have a warped or pinched look.
8. Add a drop shadow to the ribbon and then add another element on a separate layer above the ribbon.
9. Try using the Dodge Tool on the ribbon to create more realistic shadows.
