By now, I’m sure you all have heard of and are probably using the wonderful Virtual Photographer filters on your photos. (If you have not, run don’t walk to http://www.optikvervelabs.com/ and download this fabulous and free filter immediately.) But did you also know you can you use VP on your elements with amazing results? Here are a few of awesome effects you can create:
The VP Sepia filter will turn to gold just about any metal or fabric element you have. Simply select your element by holding down the Ctrl key and left clicking the element’s layer. You should have marching ants around your elements. Then choose Filters > OptikVerve Labs > Virtual Photographer and choose Sepia from the Presets menu. Viola, you’ve got the Midas Touch!

Works great on metal as well.

You can make many elements look aged and rusty with the VP Old Newspaper filter:

The VP Radiant filter (one of my favorites for photos) will subtly brighten up any of your elements that seem a bit dingy.

With over 50 presets included, VP can add countless looks to the elements you already have. (All elements in this tutorial were taken from the SBB Downloads Gallery.)
