HOW TO: Use the SBB Calender

One of the most popular activities that Scrapbook-Bytes offers its members is the numerous crops, speed scraps and challenges. With all of these events happening on different days and times, it can be challenging (if not impossible) to keep track of everything. Fortunately, SBB has made it simple to organize the various activities that occur on a weekly basis. The SBB calendar not only displays the dates and times of the many events but also lists SBB members’ birthdays.

To access the calendar from the home page, click on either the Gallery link, the Downloads link, or the Forums link which can all be found at the top of the home page. Click on the Calendar link from the Gallery, the Downloads or the Forums page.

The calendar defaults to the current month and will list birthdays, challenges and crops scheduled for each day. Clicking on each day’s scheduled event will provide you with the details of the particular event (times, type of event, host names, special preparation instructions, and links to downloads, etc.)

Clicking on the Birthdays link will forward you to a page listing SBB member’s birthdays. Some members use this information to create birthday layouts to honor their online friends.

To change the calendar view from monthly to weekly, find the bar titled “Public.” Look to the right of your screen; there will be a drop-down menu which should currently indicate “Monthly View.” Click on “Monthly View” and choose “Weekly View” from the menu. The Weekly View calendar will outline the current week’s scheduled events and birthdays. A Yearly View is also available.

At the bottom of the page, there is an option to jump ahead to a future month. Click on the drop-down menu and choose the month you would like to view (repeat for the year if needed) and click on Go. This feature comes in handy when you have some upcoming free time and want to spend it scrapping with your SBB friends.

The calendar also has a feature that allows you to request a reminder for a particular event. From the calendar page, click on the event you wish to receive a reminder for. In the section that describes the host, the date, and the time, you will see a link to the right that says Request Reminder for this Event. When you click that link, you will see a confirmation pop-up window that will indicate “a notification for this event has been added.” This creates a list of your events and places them in your Event Reminders folder.

To access your Event Reminders folder, click on Private Messages. This can be found at the top right of the Gallery page, the Downloads page and the Forums page. It can also be accessed by clicking on “User CP” which is your control panel. Once you have accessed your Private Messages page, scroll down until you see Event Reminders toward the bottom left of the Control Panel box. Click on Event Reminders and this will show your list of events. The events will remain on this list until you delete them. At this time, the calendar does not have an option to remind you of members’ birthdays.

By becoming familiar with the calendar’s features, this will allow you to become more aware and keep track of the many events that occur at Scrapbook-Bytes. Be sure to visit the Forums for specific questions regarding a particular event. Happy scrapping!
